Your Computer, does not show your discs drive? If so, there are a few things you can try
If it is a desktop, make sure all the cables are properly connected.
Start>type device manager in the search box and hit enter>click the arrow next to CD/DVD drive>right click your DVD drive>Uninstall> then reboot. If that does not work there is another fix, but it involves editing the registry, do so at own risk.
Start>type regedit in the search box and hit enter> click yes if user account control pops up>expand HKEY_Local_Machine>then expand SYSTEM> exoand Current Control Set> Expand Control> Expand Class>click on the folder that starts with 4D36E965. In there delete the upperfilter and lowerfilter. After that, reboot and give it a try.
If the drive does now show up in device manager, then you more than likely have a defective drive. Look online for a replace drive for your model. They are very easy to replace. Just one screw, slide the old one out, slide the new one in, screw it in. Done. Give me your model number and I'll find the proper replacement. You can try a format and restore but I doubt that will work.
